#28 Lost but not forgotten

25 years had passed since a united galaxy had fought and won against the extinction through the Reapers.
Like every year, there were great celebrations for this occasion, not only on Earth but throughout the galaxy.
It was also 25 years ago since the Normandy and many others were gone forever in the vastness of the universe.
The first search mission for the missing ships was less successful than hoped.
Fewer than a dozen of the missing ships had been found.

After the mass relays could be repaired a few years later, a larger number of missing ships were salvaged in further missions.
However, to this day, more than 30 ships were missing, including the Normandy.
The Alliance had the search officially discontinued years ago. Since that time the ships were listed as missing in action.
For years Shepard no longer attended the ceremonies, instead she stood for hours in front of the memorial stone for the missing persons of the Normandy.
She looked at the names and tried to remember the faces of her lost friends.

A call over the intercom tore Kayla from her dream. It took her a moment to come back to reality and to answer the call.
Commander Stryker asked Shepard to come to the bridge. The sensors had discovered something.
