#33 Save and rescue

The malfunction on the station became increasingly stronger. The emergency generators from the shuttles could compensate
the fluctuations in the energy system only conditionally. Since not all data had been decrypted,
Shepard ordered to backup all data and the Prothean VI and to transfer all to the computer of the York.

After the work on the station was completed the Captain let erase all data from the computers and seal the station.
As long Cerberus was still active, they should have no base here anymore.

When all were back aboard the York, it went directly to the debriefing. Shepard wanted to stop the activities of Cerberus at any price.
Although they knew the approximate position of the mass relay Cerberus worked on, they had no idea where the cruiser was.

The surviving members of the station had surrendered willingly, but they kept silent on the whereabouts of the cruiser.
While the technician continued to work on decoding the files, Jacob and Samara had the order to obtain information from the captives.
After all Cerberus had already done, it had the highest priority to stop them as soon as possible.

Cerberus had abandoned the survivors seemingly random on the planetary surface.
The last shuttles arrived nearly two hours after Shepard’s Team returned from the outpost.
After Shepard skimmed the preliminary reports of medbay she wanted to personally get an impression.

When she reached the medbay, she looked at the brisk activities for a while. The doctors were very busy and
Shepard didn't want to unnecessarily keep them away from work.
Despite the circumstances, it was still a good feeling of having saved all those people. Hopefully not the last time.

Shepard was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn’t notice when someone moved behind her.
Only a clear clearing of the throat woke her attention. When she turned around she looked into a dirty but well-known face.
It was Caleb Matthews, an old friend Shepard knew from the times in the alliance academy.
Last time they had seen each other was shortly before Kayla was transfered to the Normandy.
After the chaos with the Reapers took its course, they had lost connection.
After a proper greeting Shepard had to go because the XO asked her to come to the CIC.

Shepard and Matthews agreed to meet later to eat in the casino, there was much to talk about.
While going Kayla gave her old friend the advice to take a long shower and get some fresh clothes.
