#37 Waiting

Ten days had already passed since the bait ship was put into position and started to send the fictitious emergency calls.
Since then, nothing of the Cerberus cruiser was seen.
With each uneventful day passing, not only the tension but also the frustration grew in the crew. Shepard was no exception and

she could understand the crew well. Most had volunteered for this mission, hoping to find their missing friends and comrades.

And probably no one had expected a confrontation with Cerberus at start.

Since there was little to do apart from the daily routine, Kayla spent a lot of time with Samara in the last few days.

The long conversations with the Asari brought Shepard at least briefly to other thoughts.

Kayla and Samara had just completed several laps in the training hall when Shepard was called to the CIC.

Once there, she was informed that the sensor buoys had detected an object that was traveling in their direction and

would take about ten hours to arrive at its current speed. Hoping that this was the long overdue cruiser,

the captain informed the crew and put all stations on alert. Finally the wait was over.
